Kolkata: A Prastuti Karyakram was organised on Monday to announce the upcoming grand 11,000+ Gita Path, which is expected to bring together more than 11,000 devotees for a collective recitation of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita at Jagganath Temple Mela Ground.
The initiative is being undertaken primarily by the Balaji Welfare Foundation and the Women Empowerment Foundation with the objective of spreading Krishna consciousness and the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita across all sections of society. The initiative aims to serve as a prototype for the mega event of Gita Path, which took place at Maidan (Kolkata) last December.
Both organisations have been actively involved in initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, the upliftment of underprivileged women, and their integration into the mainstream of society. Through this initiative, they seek to further their commitment to fostering a more peaceful, harmonious and spiritually conscious society.

The announcement event was graced by Padma Shri Swami Pradiptananda Maharaj (Kartik Maharaj) Ji, Secretary of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha. The initiative was represented by Namita Nayak of the Women Empowerment Foundation, with the support of the Balaji Welfare Foundation and Creative Mind Advertising LLP.
The programme was held at Dewtia Banquet, Rishra, Hooghly, and underscored the significance of bringing thousands of devotees together for the collective recitation of the Bhagavad Gita. The initiative aims to promote the values of devotion, unity, peace, harmony and spiritual awareness across society.
Speaking at the pre-launch programme, Debabrata Bag, Founder of Balaji Welfare Foundation, said that the core idea behind the initiative is to promote peace and harmony in society and encourage people to follow the path of Krishna consciousness.
Namita Nayak, Founder of Women Empowerment Foundation, said, “The objective of this initiative is to take the message of Krishna consciousness to every section of society and inspire people to connect with the spiritual values and teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.”
The upcoming 11,000+ Gita Path is envisioned as a landmark spiritual gathering that will bring together people from diverse backgrounds in a collective expression of devotion, faith and unity.
