Army Commanders Conference to begin from May 27

The Army Commanders’ Conference is an apex level event which is held twice every year.

The conference was scheduled for April, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will now be organised in two phases.

The conference facilitates conceptual level deliberations culminating in important policy decisions.

The apex level leadership of Indian Army will brainstorm on current emerging security and administrative challenges and chart the future course for Indian Army.

The conference’s first phase will be held at the South Block. To ensure due diligence, decisions will be taken through a collegiate system comprising Army commanders and senior officers.

New Delhi: The high level Army Commanders’ Conference will begin from Wednesday, May 27 onwards, amid an ongoing standoff between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. The Army Commanders’ Conference is an apex level biannual event which facilitates conceptual level deliberations culminating in important policy decisions.

The Army Commanders’ Conference, scheduled for April 2020, will now be organised in two phases. The first phase of the conference is scheduled from 27 to 29 May 2020 and the second phase in last week of June 2020. The high-level conference was scheduled for April but got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The apex level leadership of Indian Army will brainstorm on current emerging security and administrative challenges and chart the future course for Indian Army. To ensure due diligence, decisions are taken through collegiate system comprising Army commanders and senior officers.

The conference’s first phase will be held from Wednesday to Friday at the South Block in Delhi. During the first phase which will be organised at South Block, various aspects pertaining to operational and administrative issues including studies pertaining to logistics and human resources will be discussed. Operational issues that are likely to be discussed include the situation along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. Even the situation along the Line of Control with Pakistan and counter-terrorist operations in Kashmir could also be discussed.
