Campuses opting for virtual mode to ease placement process due to COVID19

Kolkata: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB announced to start Online Placement this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. In order to cope up with the situation, the University has decided to initiate Virtual Recruitment. Many engineering colleges under MAKAUT are laying the groundwork for the virtual placement season which is said to begin early November, says a press release.

Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra, Vice-Chancellor of MAKAUT said, “Virtual recruitment is gradually gaining momentum. Earlier, we had only a few companies who opted to select students without being present on the campus. Now, remote hiring will speed up.”

The University said that Online Placement is practically the only alternative way during this pandemic. It is suitable choice for many recruiters. Campuses are opting for the virtual mode to ease the placement process.
