Supreme Court upholds transfer of Patna FIR to CBI in Sushant Singh Rajput case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has ordered CBI investigation in the death case of Bollywood Actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Apex Court in its order said that a fair, competent and impartial investigation is need of the hour.

Upholding the transfer of Patna FIR to CBI in Sushant Singh Rajput case, Supreme Court said that the FIR registered at Patna was correct.

Apex Court said, “FIR registered by Bihar Police is correct, reference to CBI is lawful.”

SC said that Bihar government is competent enough to transfer case to CBI for investigation. Court said that jurisdiction of Mumbai Police conducting probe under Section 174 CrPC (enquire on suicide) is limited.

Apex Court also said that if any other case is registered regarding Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the same shall be probed by CBI only.

Reacting to the verdict of SC, Vikas Singh, Lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father said, “This is a victory for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. SC ruled on all points in our favour. The Court also clearly said that the FIR registered at Patna is correct.”

Vikas Singh added, “SC also said that any other FIR registered in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death will also be investigated by the CBI. We hope that we should get justice very soon. The family is very happy with the verdict.”

He further said, “It is a very important day for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family and his fans all over the world. Supreme Court accepted all our points, it also held that what Maharashtra Police was doing was in a limited scope.”

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey also welcomed the decision and said, “I am very happy. The Supreme Court’s order has strengthened the trust people have in the Court and has assured the nation that justice will be delivered in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.”

Bihar DGP added, “Today’s verdict has proved that Bihar Police was correct. The way Mumbai Police behaved was illegal.”

Reacting to Rhea Chakraborty’s comments on CM Nitish Kumar, Bihar DGP said, “Bihar ke mukhyamantri pe comment karne ki aukaat Rhea Chakraborty ki nahi hai.”

Supreme Court in its order said that Sushant Singh Rajput was a talented actor and died well before his full potential could be realised. Many are keenly awaiting outcome of probe so speculations can be put to rest. Therefore a fair, competent, impartial investigation is need of the hour.
