Guwahati: Narayana Health City, Bengaluru’s Gynaecologic Oncology-Consultant Dr. Rohit Raghunath Ranade conducted an OPD and Cervical Cancer Screening Session in Guwahati.
The session raised awareness about early cancer detection and promoting health initiatives in the Northeast region. The Doctor highlighted the causes and symptoms of gynae-cancers like cervical, ovarian and endometrial cancers and educated women to take precautionary measures.
Dr. Rohit Raghunath Ranade also spoke about the rise in cervical cancer cases both globally and nationally and mentioned the urgent need for early detection, prevention, and curative treatment, particularly in the Northeast region, which has been witnessing constant rise in gynae-cancer cases, as well as ovarian and endometrial cancers.
Dr. Rohit Raghunath Ranade said, “Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer among females in India. Cervical cancer is completely preventable. The best way to control cervical cancer is to prevent it from developing. This can be done via a combination of HPV vaccination & screening.”
Highlighting the benefits of cervical cancer vaccination, Dr. Ranade encouraged women to take HPV Vaccine which will contribute to prevention and elimination of cervical cancer, further improving women’s health in the region.
