Durgapur: Himalaya BabyCare, in association with Smile Foundation, organised a series of Healthy Baby Contests in Durgapur, West Bengal, engaging over 165 mothers and babies through community-level health awareness activities and interactions. The initiative reinforced the organisations’ shared commitment to promoting maternal and child well-being and creating greater awareness around healthy growth and development during the early years of a child’s life.

The Healthy Baby Contests were conducted at Dakbangla AWC Centre, Durgapur. The two activations recorded participation from over 165 mothers and babies, respectively. The initiative brought mothers and babies together at the community level to encourage awareness around healthy childcare practices and the importance of nurturing a healthy start to life. Through the activations, mothers were encouraged to engage in conversations around nutrition, hygiene, health monitoring, and everyday childcare practices, with a focus on supporting the overall well-being and development of young children.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Chakravarthi N. V., Director – BabyCare, Himalaya Wellness, said, “Every child deserves a healthy and nurturing start to life, and creating awareness among parents is an important part of enabling that. Through the Healthy Baby Contests, we were able to engage directly with mothers and babies at the community level and encourage conversations around nutrition, hygiene, health monitoring, and everyday childcare practices. Our association with Smile Foundation reflects our commitment to going beyond baby care products and contributing to greater awareness of holistic infant well-being. We hope these on-ground engagements help empower parents with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices for their children during the formative early years.”
The Healthy Baby Contests also provided an opportunity to reinforce the importance of adopting healthy practices from infancy. The engagements focused on helping mothers and caregivers understand the role of early nutrition, hygiene, regular health monitoring, and attentive childcare in supporting a child’s well-being during the formative years. Following the event, Santanu Roy and Ahana Sarkar were selected as the winners among the participating babies.
The initiative forms part of Himalaya BabyCare’s broader commitment to supporting parents with knowledge and awareness around infant care. Through its association with Smile Foundation, the brand aims to strengthen community-level conversations around maternal and child health and encourage parents and caregivers to make informed choices for their children’s well-being.
