Kolkata: Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata, commemorates an extraordinary journey as it reaches the remarkable milestone of seven decades. Established in 1952, the institution has been at the forefront of providing quality education to young women in a post-Independence environment.
Over the past seven decades, Modern High School for Girls has produced a remarkable roster of alumnae who have made significant contributions nationally and globally. Their achievements stand as a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and nurturing independent, thoughtful, and resilient young women.
Nirmala Birla, Chairperson, Modern High School international & Modern High School for Girls, said, “For the last 7 decades Modern High School for Girls has been a pioneer in providing a platform for young women to excel; the opening of Modern High School International further expands this vision. It is hoped that both the institutions will play a pivotal role in shaping global leaders and fostering innovation in the years to come.”
Nirmala Birla said, “We are very proud of the state-of-the-art infrastructure at MHSI, which has been awarded the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) platinum, the highest certification, for sustainability, environmental stewardship, and promoting a healthy learning environment.”
Modern High School also announced the inauguration of Modern High School International in the same campus at Ballygunge, in Kolkata. The curriculum at Modern High School International is IGCSE and IBDP.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. K Kasturirangan, former Chief of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) along with other Dignitaries.
