Axis Bank extends support to West Bengal relief efforts, waives off charges on transactions

Kolkata: Axis Bank, India’s third largest private-sector bank, on Thursday announced to contribute Rs 1 crore to the West Bengal government towards relief and restoration efforts in the areas affected by cyclone Amphan.

To provide comfort and ease to the customers, the Bank has waived off charges for saving accounts, current accounts and prepaid card customers towards online IMPS and ATM financial and non-financial transactions till 30th June, 2020.

Rajiva Sinha (IAS), Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal and Hari Krishna Dwivedi (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Government of West Bengal accepted the cheque from Lal Singh, Regional Branch Banking Head – East, Axis Bank and Rabi Kumar, VP, Government Business Group, Axis Bank.

DK Das, Executive VP and Head of Government Business Group, Axis Bank said, “Axis Bank stands committed to the people of West Bengal at this hour of crisis and will provide all possible assistance to people in building back their lives and bringing in normalcy. We have ensured that our branches and ATMs are fully functional to provide banking support to all our customers in the state at this crucial juncture.”

The Bank’s employees and partners have been working relentlessly with the district and state level authorities towards restoring critical and civil infrastructure. The Bank is also providing POS machines and mobile vans services in the state for greater ease and convenience.
