Kolkata: With an increased focus on health and hygiene products, ITC Limited forays into fruit and vegetable cleaning market category with the launch of Nimwash Vegetable and Fruit wash. The company said the product has neem and citrus fruits extracts and has been specially designed as a preventive hygiene solution which is safe to use and has no added chlorine, bleach or artificial colour. It is an effective and safe solution to clean vegetables and fruits with the power of natural ingredients. ITC said the launch addresses an emerging consumer need to clean fresh produce properly once it reaches consumer homes.
Nimwash Vegetable and Fruit wash has been launched in two variants – Spray & Wash and Soak & Wash. It is available in 450ml, 500ml and 1 litre packs. Nimwash soak and wash is priced at Rs.99 for 500ml, while the 1-litre pack is priced at Rs.190. The convenient format of spray and wash will be available in 450ml pack, priced at Rs.130.

Marico had recently launched Veggie Clean, a product in the same category which is priced at Rs.149 for 200ml and Rs.289 for 400ml packs respectively. The company said the product helps remove germs, bacteria, chemicals, waxes and soil present on the surface of fruits and vegetables without leaving any residue, aftertaste or smell. Made from ingredients that are derived from natural sources, the product can be used to clean all kinds of vegetables and fruits except mushrooms.
