Mumbai: Defending champions Mumbai Indians claimed their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title on Tuesday, thrashing Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Mumbai Indians, who had beaten Delhi three times this season, prevailed once again with eight balls to spare, dashing Delhi’s hopes of winning their maiden IPL title.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to twitter and congratulated Mumbai Indians, “Yet another incredible game of an outstanding tournament. Unbelievable display of skills under pressure. #IPL2K20 has been breathtaking. Congrats to @mipaltan on the win #IPLfinal & commiseration to @DelhiCapitals.”
