Kolkata: Biryani and kebab chain, Biryani by Kilo launched its first all-woman outlet in Kolkata’s Behala. This is Company’s 100th Outlet in the country. Actor-MP Mimi Chakraborty was present to inaugurate the outlet. The company has four outlets in Kolkata and this is third dine-in restaurant in the city’s Behala region.
Biryani by Kilo has employed over 18 women to handle the overall operations of outlet including kitchen, Dine-in and delivery operations. The crew helming this restaurant have been trained as per FSSAI guidelines on all the necessary safety, hygiene and other restaurant procedures.
Across cities, especially in the last two years, food lovers have seen their favourite restaurants shut down or limit operations, as hospitality was one of the worst hit sectors in the pandemic. But Biryani by Kilo has had consistent growth and their 100th outlet is testament to their dedication to quality and commitment to customers.
Biryani By Kilo is projected to grow its revenue to INR 300 crore in FY 22-23. Swiggy’s 2021 wrap-up reports puts Biryani by Kilo on top of the chart. Among various food categories, Biryani has emerged as an unlikely champion, surpassing pizzas and burgers.
In spite of the pandemic, Biryani by Kilo has succeeded to grow its revenue to INR 132 crore by FY21-22 and is eyeing to clock two fold+ rise in the revenue in FY 22-23. Adopting an omnichannel strategy has played a major role in the scale with its own channel like website, App & Dine-in outlets contributing 35% of total sales.
Having served more than 5 million customers since 2015, the company actively operates 100 outlets across 45+ cities in India, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dehradun, Goa, Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati, and many more. The brand processes anywhere between four and five million orders in a year currently, with an average order value of INR 725.
